I did mine without removing the wiper mechanism. No problem. Why do they remove it? There is even a notch on mine where the socket extension bar passes to reach the suspension retaining bolt. I didn't even have to remove the washer pipe from the plastic shield, I just moved it to one side. I did however lower the bonnet/hood (held by an 2 foot/ 60cm timber) to access the hole with a long socket extension bar between the bonnet/hood and windshield. A cordless impact gun makes life easier. Simples.

Dave Ridge agree with not removing the wiper mechanism. Used an impact gun and a 1/2 swivel myself 😂

Oh noo you didnnt/. You can't even touch bolts, let alone open them, without removing all. Let's not be silly here. People are gonna read your comment & be scratching their heads when your way doesn't work. I posted the actual way above, in the comments. ;-) Boring, but real.

Maybe a small detail, but I expected an inspection and cleaning of all components prior to final assembly.

This video has caused me a lot of grief and misery. You completely bypassed camber (upper) bolt marking and adjustment and just slammed the strut in. There does not now seem to be enough adjustment to get any negative camber angle in my car even if I adjust it to maximum. I have no idea what got screwed up. Getting it aligned by a professional soon but I don't see how it could make a difference (?) . Also this video fails to mention that tightening the upper strut nut needs an impact tool so it spins fast enough so that the shock absorber center does not spin along, or a special tool where you can fit a hex key through and tighten with spanner.
